LOFOTEN FISHERY.

The sea around Lofoten northern Norway, is the richest Cod fishing place in the world. An enormous amount of Cod come to this place every february to spawn. In the 70-ties every boat was wooden ones. Quite small, own by the coast fishermen themselves. This is not the case nowadays.

Around the first drilling hole containing oil, found 1969 by Ocean Viking , Phillips, Ekofisk were built. A big concrete tank was built in Stavanger and
towing by boats to this place. The tank made it possible to get the oil by boats in all kind of weather, before the pipelines were possible to build.Norwegians had no drilling experience, so Americans filled all positions from driller and up. There where no unions, but this quickly changed within
a few years.

The first and biggest concrete-plattform in the world was built outside Stavanger and towed to Stord where the iron-tubes and deck were built

FARMERS,Norway
1970-75.
In the 70-ties the common farmer still was poor. They did not use chemicals, but used crop rotations as a method to improve the soil.Indeed an ecological way of farming.

After Ekofisk "everyone" saw the possibility to become rich. Some people started a company called NORMINOL , and hired a swedish land rig own by the company TERRATEST searching for gas or oil at the coastline of the island Andøya and Svalbard.

One important factory for the community of Porsgrunn, Telemark was the porcelain-factory. Famous for the handmade porcelain and toilets. Important income for both men and women in the 70ties.
